Quite and undeveloped, Marari Beach is not much that of a tourist beach but it is a beach for relaxing the mind and the soul.
Those who want to imbibe the tranquillity of a deserted beach and want to unwind the nerves; this little known beach gives them all. Marari, which is shortened from Mararikulam, is a small and sleepy fisherman's village.
Marari Beach is located a short distance from Alleppey and 60 kilometers from Cochin.
While in Marari beach, you can also visit the nearby Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary, backwater canals and traditional coir-making units.
The weather is warm and humid throughout the year. The rain is at its worst from June to July, and late October to December. The best time to visit Marari is from December to March.
