Feel the calmness and adore the serene beauty at Varkala

Feel the calmness, adore the beauty and sing a song in your hearts. Varkala beach, situated on the south west coast of India, is an isolated sandy expanse where you can really have a relaxing holiday.

Lying down on the silver sand beaches, you can enjoy the sun kissing the sea, a sight that has its own beauty. Just lie on the sandy beaches, far from the madding crowd of the cities and other beaches, and have peace of mind. It is the beauty of the calmness that makes Varkala one of the most sought out beaches.

Apart from the serene beaches, you have the mineral springs, which are considered to have medicinal values. The beach is also called as Papanasam as bathing in the Varkala waters is considered to be holistic, washing away one’s sin. Another attraction is 200-year-old Sree Janardhana Swamy Temple.

The beach has its own beauty. It is surrounded by rocky cliffs and coconut grooves. It is really mesmerising to watch the sun go down into the horizon from these rocky cliffs.

Swimming is also a fun here. But the waves are quite stronger here. Apart from swimming, you can also go for beach volleyball and water sports like Parasailing, Scuba diving and wind surfing.

How to reach
Air: The nearest airport Thiruvananthapuram International Airport is about 46 km from here.
Railways: Varkala is well connected with all the major cities of Kerala.
