Marari Beach; Unwind your nerves

Quite and undeveloped, Marari Beach is not much that of a tourist beach but it is a beach for relaxing the mind and the soul.

Those who want to imbibe the tranquillity of a deserted beach and want to unwind the nerves; this little known beach gives them all. Marari, which is shortened from Mararikulam, is a small and sleepy fisherman's village.

Marari Beach is located a short distance from Alleppey and 60 kilometers from Cochin.

While in Marari beach, you can also visit the nearby Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary, backwater canals and traditional coir-making units.

The weather is warm and humid throughout the year. The rain is at its worst from June to July, and late October to December. The best time to visit Marari is from December to March.

Kovalam beach; a tourists dream comes true

A paradise in the ''gods own country'', Kovalam is a mesmerizing beach. With a vast stretch of sands, boundless blue waters of the Arabian Sea, the swaying palms and the rocky promontories, Kovlam is a real paradise.

A sun set at Kanyakumari: Located in the midst of the ocean, just 400 meters from Kanyakumari, the last point of Indian subcontinet, is the magnificent Vivekananda Rock Memorial. The Vivekananda rock temple is dedicated to one of the greatest spiritual philosophers of India, Swami Vivekananda. It is said that Swami Vivekananda meditated here before setting out on one of the most crucial religious campaigns in India in 1892. It is a popular tourist attraction.

Bakel Beach: a romantic destination

Golden sands, crystalline waters, swaying palms and lush greenery are what welcome you in Bakel beach. A quite romantic destination, Bakel beach is one of the most visited places in Kerala.

Located about 14 Km from Kasargode, which is the northern district of Kerala, Bakel is really mesmerising. The rhythmic sound of the blue waves lashing the shores, a long stretch of silver sands, swaying palm trees on the shores all make Bakel a romantic destination. An unspoilt beach, Bakel is an idyllic tourist destination in Kerala.

The Bakel Fort, which stands atop the shore, is another attraction here. This 300-year-old Fort, sprawling in 35 acres, juts into the Arabian Sea. Watching the sea down below, watching the dancing palms and the long stretch of sand is really worth.

Well, you can play football or volleyball or even lie down on the sands. You can also go round the villages where you can come in close quarters with a true Kerala village life. Taste the local fish curry and other seafood delicacies.
